I'm as free as a bird now.

Hi dolls, today I have an outfit post featuring some hazy Sunday-afternoon photos. These were taken last weekend in that warm lazy light that you only seem to get as the weekend starts to close its curtains. The downside is that every tiny flyaway is accentuated, but I do like that backlit effect so I thought I'd use these photos anyway; I hope you like them.

Top - H&M
Skirt - River Island (old)

Unicorn necklace - Hoobynoo World

I guess sometimes I wonder how I have the stones to write a fashion blog - let's face it, black skirt/black cardigan/boots isn't exactly groundbreaking territory - but my personal style is and never will be totally 'out there,' for me it's about the smaller details and the vibes that are created when certain items are put together. For me, quirky jewellery can do just that - Coco Chanel advised always removing one accessory before leaving the house, but for me an outfit is nullified if it's not accessorised. This unicorn necklace is the sweetest thing, and I love how it looks with the pattern of the bustier and contrasting tights. (You can get 10% off this necklace using the code 'BLOG10' too!) I felt unusually girlie, but I guess there's no problem with that every once in a while! Find this outfit on Lookbook here.

What is your opinion on accessories - would you say less is more?

    1. Thanks so much Tara, that's so kind. I'd normally disagree with you at the figure comment just out of standard female self-deprection but I've just finished a rather epic workout, I'm trying to kick my figure back into shape so I shall take the compliment with thanks! I love the necklace sooo much! xxx

  4. I think less is more. That doesn't mean that the "less" can't be an awesome unicorn necklace though. I have three necklaces that I wear regularly; a mad hatter one, an amortentia one and a Game Of Thrones one. They're all a little quirky and I think those are the best kind of necklaces!

    Absolutely love your outfit!x

    1. I agree; the unicorn necklace is such a statement it works with less, but with silver I tend to just keep layering haha! Please please link me to the Game of Thrones one I need it in my life! xxx

  5. I loved that necklace unicorn is very tender, about less is more, is absolutely true but it is also a rule, and I personally hate the rules, so it is always better to dress according to how I feel, in my opinion, I do not care much if I could sometimes even ridicule, but anyway, you'll look great with the top, I would say that is the center of attention;) kisses!

  7. I love your style! I don't think personal style has to be ground breaking; it's all about wearing what you love and at the same time expressing who you are! It's good to see people's personality shining through in their outfits. I love this one. The blue roses on the top are gorgeous, I love the tights, and the necklace is amazing! You look lovely xx

  9. Love this outfit and it reflects you, which I think is sort of the point of personal style posts :)
I always forget to wear jewellery, I've been trying to make an effort to remember but I'm hopeless.

    1. Thanks Selina - that is true, I see a lot of outfit posts where I wonder if it's genuinely what somebody wore or if it's more of an editorial shoot for themselves. Both are fine but I do love to see what people genuinely wore, which is why I do still post some of the outfits I'm less sure about, like this one! xxx
