Hi dolls, I hope you're well! Today's post is an outfit post: I captured these photos when we last had a really warm, bright day. That kind of weather is always a nightmare when trying to take outfit pictures because of the harsh shadows and inevitable squinting, but I just love the sunshine so much that I had to give it a try anyway. I hope you like the outfit...
Dress - Joe Browns*
Sandals - Clarks (old)
Hair slide - New Look (via ASOS)
When I saw this item on the Joe Browns website I loved the embroidery and shape, but it was listed as a tunic when I envisaged wearing it as a dress. Still, I'm pretty fearless when it comes to hemlines so I took a risk on it, and fortunately it paid off: it's actually a really great length worn as a dress. The shape is super-flattering: it massively boosts the bust, but is draped across the front - I wore this to a restaurant with my friends, and it was a perfect choice because I didn't feel self-conscious after eating a big meal - that might sound silly but I hate that feeling! I've always liked Joe Browns as a brand because their designs are always so unique with cute, thoughtful little touches, like a little heart-shaped button attached to the skirt, and tie detailing at the back.
These sandals are from Clarks, believe it or not: they're the first shoes I've bought in there since I was a child buying school shoes! I got these at the very end of summer last year when my mum and I were shopping: we were looking for work shoes for her, and instead I found these heavily reduced in the sale and fell in love. They are a beautiful quality, and really comfortable.
One of my special life-skills seems to be managing to make summery outfits that are still all-black, and this is no exception. In this country it's so rare to get days where you can wear a summer dress and sandals without being cold, so you have to make the most of them. Find this outfit on Lookbook here...
What did you wear during the (short-lived) heatwave?
